This document has the following sections:

The Proxy Setup page is used to configure JavaServer to act as a proxy server. A proxy server typically runs on a firewall machine to provide Internet access for users on a private network inside a firewall. When Java Server functions as a proxy server, it can be configured to cache frequently-requested documents for faster retrieval and improved response times. JavaServer can be used as a proxy server while also serving documents to local host machines inside the firewall.

Proxy setup is done by selecting one of two tab panels. These are:

Disk Cache Settings

Disk Cache
Enables or disables disk caching. If enabled, JavaServer caches frequently requested pages for faster retrieval and improved response time.

Cache Location
Sets the location of the proxy server's cache file. The default location is server_root/cache.

Max Cache Size
Sets the size of the proxy cache file.

Host and Port Settings

HTTP Proxy Host
If the JavaServer is acting as an intermediate proxy in an HTTP proxy chain, enter the host name of the HTTP parent server in the chain.

HTTP Proxy Port
